The problem
You pay the booking-platform price because the hotel’s lower direct rate is never published anywhere.
What it does
ratecla.im is designed to ask the hotel for its best unpublished rate and bring back a quote held for 24 hours.
How it works
- Paste a hotel link, or use the browser extension on the page you are on
- An AI agent, which says it is one, asks the reservations desk directly
- You only see a quote that beats the lowest public price found for the same stay
Free for travellers; hotels pay five percent after the stay.
Stop overpaying for a rate the hotel would have given you if you asked.
TodayThe backend runs on Cratefield; the browser extension is built but not published; the request agent is not built yet.
The film
Aims
- Autonomous operation
- A request runs itself: find the hotel’s reservations desk, ask, wait, read the reply, check it beats the lowest public price for the same stay, hold it for 24 hours, and bill the hotel after the stay. A person steps in only when a reply is unclear.
- Intelligence
- An agent that says it is an AI in every message, drafts the email and reads the reply into a checked quote. It never invents a price: anything uncertain goes to a human. The workflow around it is a plain, durable state machine.
- Growth
- Traveller-led, with hotels following: every quote is a reason for a hotel to list itself. Growth is accepted quotes at hotels that list with ratecla.im, counted from the first stay.
The technical detail
Hotel rates nobody publishes. A traveller pastes a hotel link; an AI agent that identifies itself contacts the hotel’s reservations desk directly, asks for availability and its best unpublished rate, checks it against the lowest public price for the same stay, and returns a quote held for 24 hours. Free for travellers; hotels pay five percent after the stay instead of the 15 to 25 percent booking platforms charge. Built on the Cratefield harness. What exists today is the site; requests, the agent and the extension are being built.
